Three Great Leaders

Three Great Leaders

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is an American television personality, actress, and businesswoman who was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on January 29, 1954. Her most well-known work is The Oprah Winfrey Show, an incredibly popular program that ran for 25 seasons from 1986 to 2011. Winfrey is a devoted philanthropist and supporter of numerous causes, such as child protection and education, so her influence goes beyond the entertainment sector. She had a difficult upbringing, but she went on to break new ground in the media field by becoming the first Black American woman to run her own production company. She has become one of the most prominent and influential women in the United States due to her influence on the television industry and her major contributions to society.

Oprah is a very authentic person. This characteristic is something that I personally find is crucial for a leader. Showing your genuine self as a leader inspires the people around you. She is an effective communicator. During her show, she expressed her views and opinions fearlessly. The way she reflects upon other people when in a conversation is clear evidence that she is a strong active listener. Oprah is renowned for her unique ability to establish a distinct vision and motivate people to pursue it. She has a strong sense of purpose and has succeeded in a number of activities by putting her vision into action. Empathy and emotional intelligence are qualities that I strongly believe in. Oprah’s efforts towards child protection and education are something because of which I genuinely admire her. All her qualities and characteristics make her a powerful leader.

Ratan Tata

Ratan Tata is a businessman born in Mumbai, India, on December 28, 1937, Tata is very well known in India and is a member of the powerful Tata family. He oversaw the substantial growth and globalization of the Tata Group during his time as chairman. After completing his studies at Cornell University and earning a B.S. in Architecture, Tata joined the Tata Group in 1962 and worked his way up to the position of chairman of the conglomerate in 1991. It was during his leadership that the company reached the height of success. The group acquired Tetley Tea, the truck manufacturing division of Daewoo Motors, and Jaguar Land Rover. Tata is renowned for his courteous and respectful leadership style. He is well-known for his charitable endeavors. Most importantly, his ethical business practices make him a great example of an ideal leader.

People love him because of who he is as a person. He is someone who breaks the stereotype of a typical businessman. Tata is a very humble person. His down-to-earth nature has earned him respect from not only his employees but from the general public as well. He follows ethical business practices. One of the most vocal supporters of corporate social responsibility has been Ratan Tata. I personally believe that a business cannot be considered successful unless it benefits society, and this is why I like his values. Through a number of Tata Group projects, he has supported initiatives associated with rural development, healthcare, and education, demonstrating his dedication to having a positive social impact. This quality of his makes me his true follower. A leader is not successful without his team, and Tata has encouraged teamwork among his employees and giving his executives a lot of authority. Within the Tata Group, he has been successful in creating a strong leadership team and values the opinions of his team members. If all the businessmen around the world were like him, the world would be a much better place.

Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was a Catholic nun and missionary who went by the name Saint Teresa of Calcutta. She devoted her life to helping the poorest of the poor. She was called to religious life at an early age and left her family at the age of eighteen to join the Sisters of Loreto in Ireland. She was born in 1910 in Skopje, which is now the capital of North Macedonia. She had been teaching in India for a number of years when she had a deep spiritual awakening that inspired her to leave the convent and start working with the less fortunate people living in Calcutta's slums. She was recognized globally and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her unwavering commitment to alleviating suffering. She passed away at the age of 87 in Calcutta on September 5, 1997.

Mother Teresa's mission was based on her intense empathy and compassion for other people's suffering. A successful leader should be empathetic if he wants his followers to trust and believe him. A vital part of her leadership was her capacity to relate to individuals on a personal level, irrespective of their background. As she was a nun, Mother Teresa had strong spiritual beliefs. I am a spiritual person and truly believe in divine powers. I feel that nothing in this world happens without that power’s wish.

These three wonderful leaders are my favorite because they align with my values and beliefs.
